Two weeks later and with time to reflect. The 2011 Nevada county Fair has been deemed a success by chief Executive Officer Sandy Woods sighting the beautiful weather, strong attendance and feedback from the community.
“We feel it was a really good, strong fair, well supported by the community. Butler Amusements reported that their ride gross was up about 1%. Usually our gate pretty much mirrors what happens with Butler. But it felt, particularly Saturday night, it was jamming out here, and yet had a nice feel, a nice mellowness to it. We’ve received lots of feedback from the public saying how much they enjoyed the fair and that’s always wonderful to hear.”
232 animals were auctioned at this year’s Junior Livestock Auction, raising more than $350,381 dollars for the youth of Nevada County and Sunday’s food drive collected 1,000 pounds of food for the Food Bank of Nevada County, enough to feed more than 100 local families.
