Adult Services Provides Menu of Services

The New Year provides a great great opportunity to observe and talk about any challenges an elderly family member or dear friend may be experiencing so they can continue to remain safely in their home. Nevada County Adult Services Program Manager, Tamaran Cook talks about programs under the Adult Services umbrella. The first being the Senior Outreach Nursing Program

Another program is Adult Protective Services which anyone can call if there is suspected elder abuse- but APS offers additional services

And the In-Home Supportive Services allows seniors eligible for MediCal to stay in their home while receiving assistance.

There are also mental health and social support services available through a contracted nurse.

Currently Nevada County Adult Services serves 530 clints through Adult Protective Services; 1400 visits through the Senior Outreach Nursing Program and 625 clients using In-Home Supportive Services.
