AgBoosters support Youth Programs Year Round

Nevada County Ag Boosters support the kids and programs of 4-H and FFA in the area. Debby Totoonchie served 20 years as a 4-H leader and has raised 4 children through the ranks of 4-H and Future Farmers of America.  She says the programs build strong character and give opportunities to children in many ways, many made possible by the support of the Ag Boosters.

“Scholarships are our main mission and we’re real excited about that. We meet great kids every year. We also host the buyers’ breakfast at the Nevada County Fair in conjunction with livestock producers. We put that on every year. Then we do the buyers’ dinner, which is a thank you to all the buyers at the fair youth auction and we do that the week before the fair starts.”

As a fundraiser the Nevada County Ag Youth Boosters   are putting on their first Crab Feed dinner. It will be on January 14th at St. Canice Hall in Nevada City. Tickets are $35 per person.  The Ag Boosters have also elected to run a separate dessert fundraiser for the Mark Hedenland Cancer Fund. People who would like to donate desserts or money or buy dinner tickets can call 268-0241 or on facebook search Nevada County Ag Youth Booster Crab Feed.
