Alasdair Fraser Holds Fourth Annual Community Music Workshop and Gathering

Master Scottish Fiddler Alasdair Fraser, who has just been inducted into the Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame, will be leading his fourth annual community music workshop and gathering at Miners foundry Cultural Center this Sunday, January 8th.  The all day workshop is for all players of violin, cello, guitar, harp, woodwinds and keyboards. The event is a precursor to the weeklong Sierra Fiddle Camp that happens in June followed by a community concert.

“I think it’s a wonderful way to kick start the new year by getting instruments out and gathering in that beautiful great hall at the Foundry, one of my favorite spaces, most of all, just getting joy out of playing the music together.”

The all day workshop includes lunch. Registration in advance is $50 for Adults, $30 for youth 12 and under and $10 more for day of registration.  For more information visit the website sierra fiddle camp dot org.   This event is sponsored by Alasdair Fraser’s Sierra Fiddle Camp, a part of the non-profit Scottish Fiddlers of California, and underwritten by Sierra Fiddle Camp Village Fund.
