Alicia Gettler Mayes Benefit

The Alicia Gettler Mayes Benefit, Hope, Love and Relief is Friday Night October 14th at 6pm at the Nevada City Elks Lodge. Alicia is a wife and mother, graduate of Nevada Union High School and up until her cancer treatment kept her from working she was a waitress at Marias Restaurant. Alicia has advanced Breast cancer and her friends and family wanted to organize a benefit it help her and her family meet the financial needs so they can focus on the care and attention Alicia needs to recover. Tickets sales have been going well according to organizers as have the donations of nearly 100 raffle prizes. Family friend Bobby G has been in charge of the entertainment for the event including some surprises.

“We’ve got a piano player to start off the night, we have a comedian from the bay area, that’s one of our surprise guests. We’ve got Cliff Branch from the Oakland Raiders coming.”

Tickets to the benefit are $20 for adults and $10 for kids. The organizers are still looking for food donations so they don’t have to spend the money they have raised on food and give 100% of the donations to the family.
