Families needing child care are invited to an open house to learn more about having an au pair live with the family. Leslie Marks is the coordinator for Au PairCare which has placed Au pairs with families in Nevada County. She says the program has been around for about 20 years and is governed by the Department of State. The au pairs have to be between the ages of 18 and 26 and must have child care experience.
“The biggest advantage, I feel, is the flexibility. The au pair is allowed to work up to 45 hours a week. That 45 hours a week can be used wherever it’s needed for that particular family.”
Au pairs live in the home and are paid $340 per week and that is no matter how many children are being watched. Their contract is for one year from the time they join the family. Parents interested in the Au Pair program can call Leslie Marks at (916) 580 3880 or e mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The International Family Day event is This Sunday October 16th in Roseville.
