Auburn Car Thief Arrested

The man accused of stealing a car from an Auburn resident October 27 of this year and selling it on Craig’s List has been arrested. Sgt Dale Hutchins with the Auburn Police Department says 29 year old Jeffery Cerniglia unlawfully took possession of a vehicle then advertised that vehicle on Craig’s list, and illegally sold the car to a resident of Roseville. Investigators from the Auburn Police department were able to identify Cerniglia as the person responsible and determined that he was in custody in the Placer county Jail on unrelated charges. At the conclusion of the investigation, Cerniglia was additionally booked into the Placer county Jail for auto theft and grand theft.
