Bank Robbers Caught in Rocklin

Two people arrested for bank robbery in Auburn have been identified. Placer County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Mark Reed says the suspects entered the bank of the west in Auburn on Monday and handed the teller a note. 47 year old Cynthia Van Holland allegedly handed the note which said she had a gun. A male suspect identified as 36 year old Christopher Alonzo waited while Van Holland got the money. Lieutenant Reed says witness got a good description and a license number of the suspects’ car.

“We actually had a really good, alert citizen that were able to provide a vehicle description, a license plate number, and so a deputy picked them up down on Interstate 80 in Loomis and made the arrest on Rocklin Road and 80.”

Both suspects were from Hayden Utah. Lieutenant Reed says investigators are working with the FBI to determine if these two have committed any other robberies. Both suspects are in the Placer County jail.
