Battle of the Badges Football Raises Funds for Veterans

Law enforcement from Nevada County is taking on Placer County in the Battle of the Badges Football game, benefiting wounded veterans, Sunday September 4th at 3pm at Del Oro High School located at 3301 Taylor Road in Loomis. Detective John Zoba one of Nevada County’s team coordinators and  Sgt Dave Padilla the Team Manager of the Placer county team  agree on the cause they are playing for.

“Tim is very excited to help support the cause. Everybody’s in it to have a good time and support our wounded veterans. We have a couple of veterans now on our team, we’re really looking forward to it. A lot of our law enforcement personnel within Placer and Nevada are either current enlisted personnel or retired personnel.”

Battle of the badges is part of Battle at the Capital a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping those men and women, who were wounded while fighting to protect our country. The group provides resources and support to help those injured service members and veterans transition to civilian life. Battle at the Capital uses athletic competition to raise awareness.  Tickets are $10 the day of the game.
