The familiar ringing of the Salvation Army bells can be heard around Nevada County as the annual Red Kettle campaign gets underway this week. Salvation Army Captain Don Sheppard says many of the bell ringers are paid employees gaining experience to put on their resume for future employment.*
Captain Sheppard says there is also a need for service groups and clubs to volunteer to stand the kettles.*
The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign is the major source of donations that fund dozens of programs in the community year round.
