Big Rig Fire Near Gold Run Extinguished Quickly

A big rig fire on Highway 80 at Gold Run had traffic stopped in both directions for a short time Tuesday morning. Beth Bowersox with Grass Valley Emergency Dispatch says the first call came in around 5:30 AM.

Bowersox says that multiple units from surrounding areas responded to the fire and kept it from spreading into the vegetation.

The truck was traveling westbound on Highway 80 and carrying some sort of alcohol product. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
