Bird Causes Power Outage to 3,900 PGE Customers

A power outage that put 39-hundred pg and e customers in the dark from rough and Ready to Big Oak Valley this morning had an unusual cause.  Brittany McKannay with PG and E says blame it on the birds.

“The outage was actually due to a woodpecker that was in the area placing some acorns underneath some of our facilities. We just find that we were able to clear up the situation and get customers restored as quickly and safely as possible.”

The power outage was reported at 6am and power was restored to the 39 hundred affected customers by 7:30 this morning.
