Board of Supervisors Meet Tuesday

The Nevada County Board of Supervisors are holding a special meeting Tomorrow (Tuesday) the 6th at 10 am in the Board Chambers of the rood Center in Nevada City. Much of the agenda is consent items such as the Sheriff’s office resolution authorizing funding for the Sheriff’s office boat patrol. The board of Supervisors will also consider Thom Staser’s request to adopt a resolution proclaiming December 10th as Nevada County Food and toy Run day throughout the county. Staser is the founder of the Nevada county food and Toy Run and the board will also recognize Mary Ann Trygg the County’s Librarian upon her retirement. Trygg says she looks forward to traveling with her husband Eric.

“We both enjoy traveling, my husband and I, so we will be cooking up some plans to take off and go places. I know we’ll do that. I just bought a new Nook, which I’m going to download library books onto, and when I go on my trips, especially on the plane or in a train, I’m going to have my Nook and a book that I checked out of the local library.”

Trygg says she started as a librarian in 1974 in Los Angeles and came up to Nevada County as the children’s librarian 20 years ago. Trygg wants invites the community to a party celebrate her retirement.

“We’re having a party in our community room at the Madelyn Helling Library. I just encourage people to come by and say goodbye to me. I would love to see all of you library users out there coming to the Madelyn Helling Library next Friday.”

The retirement party for County Librarian Maryann Trygg is December 9th from 11 to 2 in the Madelyn Helling Library community room in Nevada city.
