Body Found Under Foresthill Bridge Identified

The Placer County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Office has identified the man found in the American River under the Foresthill Bridge last week as Peter Matthew Wynters, 30, from Newport Oregon. Dena Irwin with the Placer County Sheriff’s Office says the County Corner reported that Wynters injuries were consistent with a fall from the bridge.

“Our Coroner’s Office was able to identify that man as Peter Matthew Wynters. He was a 30 year old man from Newport, Oregon. An autopsy did reveal that Mr. Wynters did die from injuries consistent with jumping from the bridge.”

His body was found by a hiker on Tuesday in the water, directly under the span.
