Boyfriend Vandalizes Yuba City Woman's Home

The boyfriend of a Linda woman apparently felt he needed to break out all the windows of her home after a fight. Yuba County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Damon Gil says the incident started Monday evening after the victim and 31 year old Marcelino Sumait had an argument. Lieutenant Gil says Sumait and two friends came back to the home and started breaking out the windows.

“One of the males’ ex girlfriend lived at the residence and they had been arguing. The male showed up with two of his friends, they began to vandalize the home using sticks, rocks and bricks to break out the windows of the residence. One of the men threw a brick through the window and the lady’s 14 year old son was inside. The brick actually hit the child.”

One man was arrested Monday night. The Lieutenant says Sumait was taken into custody for suspicion of felony vandalism at his home without incident.

James Mims, 19, of Linda turned himself in to authorities in a parking lot in the 1000 block of North Beale Road early Wednesday evening.  Mims was booked into the Yuba County Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, felony vandalism and two outstanding warrants.
