A key element to any successful organization is an effective board for directors. The Center for Non-Profit Leadership is hosting a series to help non-profit organizations develop and sustain a high functioning board of directors. Board member and workshop facilitator, Norm Westmore, says the four session series begins with establishing roles and responsibilities of a Board.
The second workshop is dealing with fundraising which is a difficult topic to broach with some boards.
Another workshop in the series focus on assessment and evaluation of the board and an executive director. Westmore says there is also a session where the focus in on how to talk to people who are not performing up to exceptions.
The series is designed for two or board members of existing non-profits to participate so learning isn’t in isolation.
The series begins March 4th 5:30 -7:30 at the Kerby Conference Room at the Hospice of the Foothills, in Grass Valley. Other workshop dates are March 18, April 8 and May 6. More information is available by calling 530-265-5600 or visiting www.CNLSierra.org
