Busy New Year for Truckee PD

It has been a busy New Year for the Truckee Police Department as they had multiple public intoxication related  fights and some theft to deal with over the holiday.
Sergeant John Mon Pere says as routine traffic stop turned into narcotics arrest on New Year’s Day. Suspect, Patrick Boatman, was originally pulled over for a mechanical violation.

On Saturday night and Sunday Morning a couple of drinking related fights broke out at two downtown bars. The first fight, involving suspect 40 yr old Bradley Wong occurred just before midnight. According to Sgt. Mon Pere, an intoxicated Wong was challenging citizens to fight.

A second fight occurred at the PastTime Club and involved suspect Daniel Higginbotham.

Higginbotham was charged with battery causing serious bodily harm.

And a couple of suspects attempted to steal items from the Rite Aid which led to the arrest of a juvenile and an adult.

The juvenile suspect was detained on the spot but the adult fled the scene.

Karla Lopez was booked into the Nevada County Jail. The juvenile’s name was withheld because of her age.
