Cal-Fire Staff Stay On Duty To Fight Fires

Cal Fire Administration has  told  fire fighters scheduled to go off duty today , they had to stay to help man the fire engines. Battalion Chief Brian York says the move is to make sure that the state wide fire fighting effort is ready with the increase of heat. Chief York says  the holding over of fire fighters will allow three fire fighters on each engine.


Captain York says only their front line equipment is subject to the increase staffing.


Cal Fire is urging homeowners to take extra precautions in the next several days. Clearing defensible space around the home will help fire fighters protects the home.
