Callahan Park Drug Bust

Members of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Narcotics Task Force were conducting surveillance at Callahan Park in Nevada City Friday after receiving numerous complaints of drug activity. During their surveillance detectives observed a drug transaction next to the park. Detectives made traffic stop subsequent to their observations and stopped a vehicle driven by Charles Mason, age 30, who was accompanied by his girlfriend Wendylyn Clemens, age 24. Both are from Nevada County. Nevada County Sheriff Kieth Royal tells what detectives found in the car.

“What they found was $8,000 in U.S. currency, over processed marijuana, they found a methamphetamine pipe, methamphetamine and a scale.”

Charles Mason was arrested for transportation of marijuana, transportation of methamphetamine, possession of a pipe used for smoking a controlled substance, marijuana sales and possession of methamphetamine. Charges are still pending on Clemens.
