Caltrans Sierra Roadwork Scheduled

Caltrans advises traffic could be delayed Sunday through Saturday June 17 – June 23, 2012, due to the following projects.
LONG-TERM PROJECTS
State Highway 49 (Nevada County) Work has resumed on the $29 million Highway 49/La Barr Meadows Project that will widen State Route 49 to four lanes between Little Valley Road and Norambagua Way, just south of Grass Valley. The project includes a signalized intersection at La Barr Meadows Road, widening of shoulders, right- turn pockets and new sound walls. Completion is expected by fall 2012.
June 18 – June 21
On Highway 49 from Little Valley Road to Cornette Way: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous construction work.
Interstate 80 (Placer and Nevada Counties) from Carpenter Flat to Hampshire Rock: Work continues on the $167 million Emigrant Gap project on Interstate 80. Work includes total roadway replacement with Portland Cement Concrete, improving the drainage systems and installing new sediment/debris collection systems. Completion is expected in the fall of 2013.
June 19 – June 24
On westbound Interstate 80 from Yuba Gap to Rainbow: Motorists can expect various westbound lane and ramp closures from 11 p.m. Tuesday through 9 a.m. Sunday. Motorists can also expect traffic to be shifted to one 11-foot lane in each direction. A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous construction work.
June 18 – June 22
On eastbound Interstate 80 from Yuba Gap to Rainbow: Motorists can expect various eastbound lane closures from midnight Monday through 11 a.m. Friday. Motorists can also expect traffic to be shifted to one 11-foot lane in each direction. A contractor is scheduled to do paving operations.
SHORT-TERM PROJECTS
State Route 20 (Nevada County) from Cattle Drive to Penn Valley Drive/Rough & Ready Highway: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do electrical work.
State Route 20 (Nevada County) from Empire Street to Uren Street: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lane closures from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do guardrail work.
State Route 20 (Nevada County) from Bennett Street to State Route 174: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lane and ramp closures from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do sidewalk, curb and gutter work.
State Route 49 (El Dorado and Placer Counties) from State Route 193 to the Bear River Bridge: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls in various locations from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.
State Route 49 (Nevada County) from Oakhurst/Linnet Lane to the Yuba County line: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.
State Route 49 (Placer County) from Palm Avenue to Rock Creek Road: Motorists can expect the north and southbound #2 lanes closed from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do utility work.
State Route 49 (Yuba and Sierra Counties) from Marysville Road to Goodyear Creek/Bar Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls in various locations from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.
State Route 49 (Sierra County) from Belle to Lady Canyon: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous work.
State Route 49 (Sierra County) from Downieville to Sierra City: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do paving work.
Interstate 80 (Placer County) from State Route 65 to State Route 49: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lane closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Saturday. A contractor is scheduled to do guardrail work.
Interstate 80 (Placer County) from State Route 193 to Gold Run: Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.
Interstate 80 (Placer County) at Bowman Road in Auburn: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lane closures from 7 p.m. to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do bridge work.
Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Gold Run to the Nevada County line: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lane closures from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous work.
Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from Highway 89 south to Hinton Road: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lane and ramp closures from 6 p.m. Monday through 9 a.m. Friday. No two consecutive ramps will be closed at the same time. A contractor is scheduled to do grinding work.
Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from the Donner Park over-crossing to the Overland Trail under-crossing: Motorists can expect various eastbound lane and ramp closures from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday. No two consecutive ramps will be closed at the same time. A contractor is scheduled to do paving work.
State Route 89 (Nevada and Sierra Counties) from Squaw Valley Road to Webber Lake/Cottonwood Creek Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Caltrans crews are scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.
State Route 89 (Sierra County) from Old Truckee Road to Sierraville: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do paving operations.
State Route 174 (Placer County) from State Route 20 to Interstate 80: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 7 a.m. from 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Caltrans crews are scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.
State Route 193 (Placer County) from Ridge Road to Old State Highway in Newcastle: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do utility work.

The Caltrans District Traffic Management Branch has reviewed each project and determined that individual project delays are expected to be less than the statewide policy maximum of 30 minutes, unless noted otherwise above. Lanes are numbered from the center divide (#1) to the shoulder (#2, 3, 4, etc.).
