Rita Stevens joined KNCO as morning news anchor in 1999. She comes to KNCO following a 20 year career in journalism in the San Francisco Bay Area. She was a news reporter for KRON TV Channel 4 and KPIX, and earlier worked in the newsrooms at KNEW/KSAN radio. Rita is a graduate of San Jose State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science. Rita says she came to Nevada County to enjoy the rural pace and finds working in a community radio station like KNCO refreshing. Her hobbies include bicycle riding, and quilting.

Carnivorous Plants

The Bonsai Club of Nevada County is holding their show Saturday June 2nd at the Grass Valley Veterans Hall 11am. to 5pm. Eric Trygg is one of the members and when he came in for an interview, he also brought some carnivorous plants(which he also collects.)
The one pictured here is a Nepentes. The bugs are lured into the pods that has an attractant scent and they get to the edge and …. as Eric says they check in…they don’t check out.
The Bonsai Club will not have any carnivorous plants on display but they will have plenty of Bonsai plants…Come check it out…the show is free admission.
