Children Stuck in Elevator at Rood Center

Three children were trapped in a elevator at the Rood center yesterday. Consolidate fire Department Battalion Chief Spike Newby says two fire trucks responded.

“We had two engines respond to the government center there on Maidu Avenue for some individuals that were apparently stuck in the elevator. The Engine’s company attempted to try to free the individuals from the elevator but were unsuccessful and therefore stood by until the elevator technician could arrive.”

Once the elevator technician arrived the children were freed unharmed. The elevator remains out of service.
