CHP Arrest Two In Truckee for Vehicle Theft

It just doesn’t pay to break the law and then try to drive through Truckee. Though most of the stops involve trafficking marijuana or drugs out of California, the most recent arrests were for vehicle theft. Just before midnight Wednesday, a CHP officer on routine patrol clocked an east bound vehicle at 85 miles per hour in the 65. CHP Officer Jeff Billings says the officer initiated a traffic stop in the area of the truck scales.

The vehicle was reported stolen out of Chico California. At that time Shawn Evans, 36, of Oroville, and Kyle Bailey, 25, of Redding were taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.
