CHP Offers Teen Driving Class

The CHP is offering a popular class for teen drivers and their parents. CHP Public Information Officer Heather Blancarte says the Start Smart class scheduled for Monday evening August 29th at Higgins fire Department near Lake of the Pines. Officer Blancarte says the class will teach parents and new teen drivers the hazards of the road. 

“This is a class for teens and their parents, one or both of the parents can attend. It’s a free class covering teen driving topics such as emergency procedures, what to do in case of an accident. We also go over a couple of tips on how to teach your teen how to drive.”

Officer Blancarte says the parents will also learn what rights they have with a teen driver. There are a limited number of spaces available.  People can call the CHP office to register at 273-4415.
