CHP Reminds Driver to Slow for Rainy Conditions

The CHP says the number of accidents on Monday was almost three times higher than a normal Monday. Public information Officer Heather Blancarte says during the rainy period eleven different accidents were reported. The vast majority of the accidents were on Highway 49 south of Grass Valley.

“We had 11 collisions that were reported to us in our area. That’s on the county roads of Nevada County. That’s way more than we should have had. I would like to reiterate, when the roads are wet, or it’s icy or it’s raining, please slow down!”

Officer Blancarte said almost half of the accidents involved injures to several people involved in the accident.
