CHP Seeks Public's Help in Hit and Run Death

The CHP Auburn Office is still asking the public’s help to identify a motorist who stuck a tow truck driver on Interstate 80 at the westbound Ophir Road off ramp at 4:15 p.m.  Tuesday afternoon.  30 year old David Robinson Jr. was a driver for   Golden State Tow truck of Sacramento.  CHP Officer Nico Bonfilio says they have been able to identify the suspect vehicle as an early 90’s, light colored Acura or Honda with a male driver.

“The new information that we have is we’re actively pursuing a light colored Honda Acura with extensive front end damage with a missing right side mirror. We’ve received many tips.”

The CHP Investigators are trying to determine why the driver stopped along the road. If the driver was assisting another motorist they need to speak with the driver. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Auburn office CHP at 916/663-3344.
