The Colfax Railroad Days are Saturday and Sunday October 1st and 2nd in downtown Colfax. Kathy Talso, Co-Chair for the event says the streets of Colfax will be filled with vendor booths, a business fair, Quilt show, and some classic train cars will be on display from the Portola Train Museum.
“I know we’re going to have at least one engine and we’re supposed to be getting the old original Zephyr Train, I think it’s going to be a total of ten different cars that are going to be coming out. It’s going to be parked here from Thursday through Monday. It’s going to open for the schools to walk through and whatnot on Friday. Saturday and Sunday it’s open for the Railroad Days events and then it’s going to be leaving again on Monday.”
All weekend there will be model trains on display, kids’ rides and a railroad film festival. The depot street dance is Saturday with live music and a beer garden from 5 to 10pm. On Sunday there will be a classic car show. For more information about the Colfax railroad days check out the Colfax chamber of commerce web site at Colfax area.com.
