Compliance Check Leads to Warrant Arrests

Wednesday afternoon the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force went to a residence in the 26-thousand block of  Sweetland Road to conduct a marijuana cultivation compliance check after receiving information that marijuana was possibly being cultivated in violation of the Nevada County Ordinance.  A marijuana garden was located with multiple violations. Sheriff’s officer Brett LaCosse says  while attempting to find the owner of the garden a number of people were contacted on the property that had active warrants for their arrest.

Another woman at the residence, Lisa Figueroa, was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and a juvenile female on the property was taken to juvenile hall for an arrest warrant related to possession of marijuana.
Notice of the marijuana cultivation ordinance violations was posted and the growers will have 5 days to correct the issues or file a request with the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors to appeal the findings.
