Cop Impersonators in Penn Valley

Law Enforcement is concerned that phoney cops maybe in the area. Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says a woman was stopped at Penn Valley Drive and Siesta Drive Monday night by two men. The Sheriff says the men identified themselves as police officers with one of the men showing a badge. Sheriff Royal says no one from his department or any other agency was working in the area. Royal also says they have a pretty good description of the men.

The two men were not in uniform and were driving older model Buick cars. The Sheriff says the woman was not hurt but became suspicious with the type of questions the men were asking. Anyone with information on the men is asked to call the Sheriff at 265-7880
