County Recognizes AAUW on 75 yrs in County

The Nevada County Board of Supervisors this week recognized the American Association of University Women Nevada County Chapter on 75 years of service to Nevada County.  AAUW President elect Melanie Heckel and President Ann Shulse spoke to the Board about the scholarships the association has provided to local students.

“Our branch has awarded over 130 scholarships to Nevada County high school girls and Sierra College women seeking higher education in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.”

This year A-A-U-W will also sponsor 8 local 7th grade girls to attend Tech Trek which is a summer science camp at UC Davis.
