The single screen experience (watching only one screen at a time) is so 1980’s and the two screen experience (having a laptop/tablet/smartphone on while watching TV) is the new norm. Forbes is reporting 56 percent of us watch TV while using a second electronic device. While 56% is above the global average of 48%, we are waaayyyyyyy behind the world leaders in dual screening….the Japanese! 79% of TV viewers there are using a second device.
