D-U-I Checkpoint Nets Two Arrests

A sobriety checkpoint in Grass Valley over the Labor Day weekend took two drunk drivers off the roads. The checkpoint on East Main Street near Brunswick Road Saturday night had officers stopping hundreds of drivers between 9pm and 1am. However, even though final numbers are not in yet, Tassone says the number of D-U-I related arrests over the three day weekend will likely be up from last year…

Placer County also reports an increase in arrests over a longer enforcement period of 17 days. The Highway Patrol’s maximum enforcement period was from Friday evening through midnight Monday.
