Day of the Young Child

Day of the Young Child is offering a Wild Wild West theme this year, with 40 venders offering a host of activities for young children and information for parents. Sarah Cammon the vice president of Gold Country association for the education of young children the fire department is bringing out some special activities to them about fire safety.

“Each vendor has a free activity for the children. Activities are all free. The fire department will be there. They’ll be able to check out the ladder truck and I think they might be bringing their simulator so the kids can crawl through. It’s just a great event for the community and the families to come out and spend a nice day and it doesn’t cost any money.”

Day of the young child is at Sierra College, Nevada County Campus, from 10 to 2 pm near the pond. Parking is free. Saturday the 17th. Children ages birth to 8 years old with their parents are encouraged to come out to enjoy the day.
