Deer Accident Damages Two Vehicles

A bizarre accident involving a deer severely damaged two cars and caused minor injuries to the drivers. CHP Public Information officer Marc Morrison says the driver of a car was on Dog Bar Road South of Alta Sierra Tuesday night, when a deer jumped directly into the path of the car. Officer Morrison says the driver was not able to stop and hit the deer, sending it into the oncoming lane.

“In this case, the impact launched the deer forward and across to the opposing lane where a Mazda minivan was traveling in the opposite direction and the deer smashed into the front windshield of that vehicle and lodged itself right into the front seat, partially sticking out the windshield and partially inside the vehicle.”

The deer was killed in the accident. Officer Morrison says the drivers of both cars received minor injures. Both cars received major damage.
