Deer Collide with Two Motorcycles

A motorcyclist on a Sunday morning drive  ran into a deer on Highway 49   north of Nevada City yesterday. CHP officer Justin Barnthouse says  the deer was killed and the motorcycle rider was thrown from the bike and sustained significant  injuries.

Nevada City Fire Department and a unit from Nevada County Consolidated Fire initially responded to the accident.

About 3 hours after the collision north of Nevada City a CHP officer took a similar report of a motorcycle rider hitting a deer northbound on Highway 49 north of Depot Hill in Sierra County.  The 48-year-old man was taken by helicopter to Enloe Medical Center in Chico.
