Deer Crashes Through Car Windshield

We’re hearing from the man who was in the second vehicle that was struck by a deer in a bizarre accident that happened on Dog Bar Road late Tuesday night.  22 year old David Peiter was driving his girlfriend home and noticed deer in area. It was about 11pm and he says he actually came to a stop on Dog Bar Road to let the deer cross.  He says one of the deer ran out just as another driver came along in the opposite direction.

“As the oncoming car got closer and closer, this deer decided to dart in front of my car and then proceeded to get hit by the oncoming car’s front bumper and the next thing I know I saw it fly through the air and instinct told me blink and just took over and when I opened my eyes I had a deer sitting in my front window that was resting against the steering column which was about a foot away from my face. My girlfriend was in the car and started freaking out and I had to calm her down.”

Peter says he and his girlfriend were covered in blood and broken glass but they were not seriously injured.   He says he still hasn’t heard from the insurance company if they will total or repair his Mazda Minivan.  He advises anyone driving along Dog Bar Road to not speed and keep an eye out for the deer.
