Domestic Violence Leads to Arrest

On Wednesday, Nevada County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of a woman screaming on Wheeler Acres Road South of Grass Valley. Officers spoke with the reporting person that had heard the scream, but the caller could not identify exactly where the scream originated. Captain Jeff Powell explains that deputies were able to piece together information that led them to the screaming woman.

We have had numerous phone calls from friends and family concerned by what was reported on Knco. We did not hear it ourselves because we have been busy going to court and trying to get Micah released so he can go on a planned RV trip to Arizona for Thanksgiving with his fiance, baby, and his fiances mom to meet his fiances grandmother. This report is bogus. It is slanderous and we will be contacting an attorney. I realize that knco is not responsible because you are just reporting what you are told but it is lies from law inforcment and it made Micah sound like a repeated abuser and it has set him back again on his goal to be straight. There was no abuse that night. They had a 'loud' argument. Not only that but the officer that questioned Micah's fiance, asked her if she knew that Micah had abused another girlfriend on Labarr Meadows and vandalized her home. It shocked her at first but she immediatly realized and told him that he was talking about a previous roomate of Micah's who is now in prison. The other officer, that knows Micah well, also told him that it wasn't Micah. She emphatically told the court yesterday that there was no abuse and he did not break her cell phone. So why did this police report get turned in to knco as if this was true. Why was this not stricken from the report? I cannot believe an officer of the law could, first of all, tell her this, even if it was true, and second procede with his report as it were fact when in fact it was a slanderous lie. Micah has made mistakes, some his own doing and some exagerated by law inforcment, such as these new charges but he has been trying to get it together. He has a family now and he wants nothing more than to be a good dad and soon to be husband. Christians, please pray for this young family. Micah, as have we, lost faith in law inforcment for a number of exagerations that have caused pain and cost lots of money, but this is the worst yet. He has not been perfect and has deserved some discipline for his actions but he is not an abuser and he is not a criminal.
