Double Fatal Accident on Hwy 49 at Camptonville

A double fatal traffic accident was reported last evening on Highway 49 at Marysville road, Just past Camptonville in Yuba County.   CHP information officer Marc Morgan says a 25 year old woman driving a ford focus lost control of her vehicle in a curve.

“That threw her car into a sideways slide across the lane and into the northbound lane. Unfortunately there was a northbound vehicle coming, driven by a 46 year old man and his pickup truck struck the lady’s car right in the area of the passenger’s door.”

The 25 year old woman Calliann Murch and her passenger 24 year old Cory Wood both  of Idaho died at the scene.  The man driving the pickup David Pratschner and his 14 year old female passenger were taken to Rideout hospital with minor injuries.  They are both from Camptonville.    Calliann Murch was said to be from the Camptonville area originally and had returned from Idaho for a visit.
