Driver in Alta Sierra Accident Air Flighted to Sutter Roseville

Excessive speed on a wet road is believed to have led to an accident in Alta Sierra that sent a 17 year old female driver to Sutter Roseville Hospital by CalStar air ambulance around 7:30 this morning.   CHP officer Marc Morrison says the girl was alone driving a 1996 Mitsubishi Montero eastbound on Alta Sierra Drive near Gary.

“She entered a left corner too fast on the wet pavement and she began fishtailing and unfortunately, she overcorrected which caused her car to start spinning and slammed into a tree very hard. Luckily it impacted on the passenger side, but still a significant impact.”

The investigating officer at the scene estimated the vehicle was traveling at 60 miles per hour, on the wet road.
