Drunk Driver Arrested After Hit and Run

One driver was captured after fleeing an accident he caused Friday afternoon. CHP Officer Jeff Pingree says a 51 year old Nevada City man was driving a 1986 Ford Ranger. The driver, for a unknown reason, backed his pickup into a 2007 Chevrolet a 61 year old woman. When the two vehicles pulled to the side of the road, the male fled.

“The driver, who actually rolled back into a stopped vehicle, pulled off the side of the road into a gas station. The driver in the at fault vehicle then fled the scene and was apprehended about a third of a mile from the scene by the officers.”

The man was booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility for suspicion of driving under the influence and not having a driver license. The woman was not injured in this accident.
