DUI Checkpoint Tonight

The California Highway Patrol is staging a Sobriety/Drivers’ License Checkpoint in Western Nevada County Saturday evening, September 1 from 6:00 PM to midnight. Officers will be checking all cars for drivers who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or driving without a license or with a suspended license.

Lt. Quails of the CHP states, “By publicizing our efforts we believe that we can deter motorists from drinking and/or being unlicensed while driving.”

The checkpoint is made possible by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety and will be staffed by personnel from the CHP, Grass Valley Police Department, Nevada County Sheriff’s Office and Nevada City Police Department.
