False Registration Leads to one Man's Arrest

Displaying false registration tags got on man arrested.  CHP Public information officer Marc Morrison says a 54 year old Nevada City man was stopped on highway 49 near Tyler Foote Road in North San Juan. The man was driving a 1999 Saturn with current registration tabs even though DMV said the license was expired. Officer Morrison says the man was taken into custody.

“The gentleman that was stopped by one of our officers was displaying an expired registration tag on his vehicle. On contacting the driver and examining his registration documents determined that that registration tag did not belong on that vehicle, which is a misdemeanor and taken very seriously in this state. He was subsequently arrested for false evidence of registration.”

The man was also discovered to be driving on a suspended license. He was taken into custody and booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional facility.
