Film About Finding Your Bliss Planned for Thursday Evening at the Stonehouse

A special performance of the inspiring film “Finding Joe” is planned for this Thursday evening at the Stonehouse in Nevada City to benefit the Friendship Club.  Machen MacDonald, founder of ProBrilliance Leadership Institute and a business coach who is co-sponsoring the event, says he discovered the film through a good friend who has a part in the movie which is an exploration of famed Mythologist Joseph Campbell’s studies. Through interviews with visionaries from a variety of fields interwoven with enactments of classic tales by a sweet and motley group of kids, the film navigates what Campbell dubbed The Hero’s Journey , or in other words, how to follow your bliss.

“He talks about, really, how to live the life that’s really designed for us and how to follow your bliss and live with more authenticity and it also lets people know that there’s going to be those challenges, those dragons that we need to slay and I don’t care who you are, we all have them. There’s a formula in the movie that they talk about called ‘the hero’s journey’ of how to really handle things that come at you and how to really benefit from that.”

Doors open at the Stonehouse at 6pm this Thursday Feb. 23 with light appetizers and a no host bar.  The movie begins at 6:30 and runs about 80 minutes.  Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the ProBrilliance offices at 273-8000 or by going online to ProBrilliance dot com forward slash Joe.
