The Department of Justice arrested 4 people, booked into the Wayne Brown correctional Facility in Nevada County Sunday on various felony charges, after they made large purchases at a recent gun show in Reno. Andrea Carvajal, Hue Lao, Allen Lui and Gabriel Pace-Duncan had traveled to Reno from Oakland and surrounding areas in California for the gun show where Nevada County District Attorney Cliff Newell, says DOJ authorities watched them make large purchases without any of the proper paperwork, including several large gun magazines, a 9mm Ruger pistol, and ammunition.
“DOJ agents saw them make the purchase in Nevada at a gun show and followed them back into California, where they were pulled over and subsequently investigated and were arrested for having 1) the high capacity magazines, 2) for concealable firearm not registered to them and 3) a loaded, concealed firearm.”
The 4 have posted bail. Nevada County District Attorney Cliff Newell, says his office is waiting for information from the DOJ in order to press charges and determine if an arrest warrant is required or site them to appear in Nevada county to face the DOJ Charges.
