Free Thanksgiving Dinner

Gold Country Calvary Chapel is hosting its 7th annual free Thanksgiving dinner on November 24th, Thanksgiving Day from 11 to 1 pm at Nevada City Veteran’s Hall at 415 N. Pine Street. Joy Sidebottom, the organizer of the event says they need volunteers.

“We need volunteers to bring side dishes and serve at the event and to help clean up. We only have one oven there and we can’t cook all the food on site and we have volunteers bring side dishes for however many servings or a pie and we combine it all to feed 200 people.”

Sidebottom says they need about 60 volunteers. Serving shifts are a half hour at a time beginning at 11am until 1pm. If you are interested in volunteering call the Gold Country Calvary Chapel at 274-2108. In addition to a full dinner Thanksgiving dinner with all the side dishes and desert, 50 care packages with groceries will be given away to those in need.
