Gas Leak Closes McCourtney Road

A section of McCourtney Road had to be closed for several hours, after a construction crew dug into a gas line…

That’s P-G-and-E spokeswoman Brittany McKannay. The accident happened just before 10 am yesterday at McCourtney and Auburn Roads. The area had to be cleared so the gas could be vented, and crews had to come up from Elk Grove to make repairs. It’s not known yet if the construction crews were aware that there were gas lines in the area, but McKannay says this serves as a reminder…

P-G-E had to install a bypass pipeline to make the repair. The highway was finally re-opened around 5:30 pm.
