A man suspected of driving under the influence lost control of his 2000 Volkswagon as he was negotiating the Highway 49 Gold Flat Road exit around 1:30 Saturday morning. CHP Officer Justin Barnthouse says the vehicle went airborne.
It took Firefighters 30 minutes to extricate the driver, 48-year-old Carl Mohr of Grass Valley, from the vehicle. Mohr was flown to Sutter Roseville for treatment and will face multiple charges.
Mohr is still at Sutter Roseville Medical Center, listed in serious condition.
