Good numbers officially coming in from the CHP about Maximum Enforcement in Western Nevada County for the Labor Day weekend. CHP Officer Greg Tassone says most drivers did a good job not getting behind the wheel after drinking alcohol Friday evening through Monday night.
Tassone says those are good numbers for our area.
Tassone says there was only one DUI related collision during the maximum enforcement period. There were no DUI related fatalities.
A DUI Checkpoint set up Saturday during Labor Day weekend netted two arrests and one citation. CHP Officer Greg Tassone tells KNCO that the checkpoint began at 6:00 PM with roving patrols which netted one arrest. The second part of the checkpoint is a static operation that was set up on East Main Street in Grass Valley and also netted a DUI arrest.
A third incident involving a cite and release for driving on a suspended license also occured at the static checkpoint.
KNCO will have full Maximum Enforcement Period results for Western Nevada County in a later news cast.
