Governor Jerry Brown travels to Las Vegas today to talk clean energy and jobs with U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid at the National Clean Energy Summit 4.0. In a preview to promote the event earlier this month Governor Brown announced California’s commitment to clean energy and solar power.
“Just two months ago, I was able to dedicate a plant in Blythe which will be, when it’s built out over the next 5-6 will be the largest central based solar plant in the world. It’ll be 1,000 megawatts. We see it as saving energy, creating jobs, reducing pollution and also dealing with climate change.”
The state also has mandated that California will get one third of its power from renewable energy by 2020.
