GPS Theif Apprehended Within Ten Minutes

Quick action by a victim and the Grass Valley Police had a thief in custody and the stolen property recovered, in a matter of minutes. Grass Valley Police Captain Rex Marks says the victim reported her GPS car unit stolen Tuesday evening on Brunswick Road. Captain Marks says Officers had a suspect in a less than 10 minutes.

“We had an excellent response time on this particular call and within less than ten minutes of the call being dispatched, we had officers on scene and suspects in custody within ten minutes.”

22 year old Shannon Sinkey of Grass Valley was found riding a bicycle with the GPS unit in her possession. She was taken into custody for suspicion of receiving stolen property. The GPS unit was returned to the victim.
